Networking -
The focus of this course is on learning the fundamentals of networking. In this course, you will learn both the practical and conceptual skills that build the foundation for understanding basic networking.
This week we will review your Computer Science Class from last year and take a little quiz to see what you remember. You will again be using the Internet for receiving and turning in assignments and projects.
Modeling and Simulations -
The goal of this course is to introduce you to fundamental concepts and technologies of modeling and simulation. This course provides a hands-on introduction to modeling and simulation using tools and hardware commonly found in the business environment. Online materials will assist you in developing the skills necessary to plan and implement models and simulations across a range of applications.
This week you will be learning about basic terms and vocabulary of modeling and simulations. You will be using the Internet for receiving and turninging in assignments and projects.

Tech Essentials -
The goal of this class is simple. Get yourself ready to be a successful student here at NCTHS. We will help you set up an online presence with email, IGoogle, and Google Docs. In addition, you will be introduced to using good study habits, note and test taking skills and a variety of other skills that will benefit you throughout your stay at NCTHS. We believe these skills will also serve as a foundation for your post high school life.
This week we will begin to create an online presence for use here at NCTHS and discuss the importance of your 9th grade year in the overall health of your high school career and your goals for post high school.
Senior Projects -
Welcome to your Senior year in the Engineering and Computer Science department. This year you will be doing great things. You will be using your skills that you have developed at NCTHS to create real world projects. All of you will be working with mentors at Jacobs or SAIC to enhance your knowledge of Computer Science and/or Engineering. We will again be sending a pair of students to Orlando, Florida to participate in the I/ITSEC Modeling and Simulation Conference in early December. Lets wok hard and make another good showing. This class is a great opportunity. Take advantage of the time and relationships you have this year. Don't waste it.
Operating Systems -
The goal of this class is to teach you the basics of different operating systems and how you can use these operating systems to individualize the functions of your computer and/or network. Systems covered include Windows OS, Linux OS and Cisco's OSI.
Internet Programming -
The goal of this class is to introduce you to programming in the Cloud. Topics covered include HTML, PHP, Cloud Databases and Java Script.
