Weekly Class Info

Computer Science - This week students will be engaged with finishing up the Linux Chapter.  We will be using the class Moodle site and our Virtual Machines to finish up the scripting lab.  Linux test on Wednesday.  we will also be taking a look at the new development tool called AppInventor.  This is a free object oriented programming look at building functional phone apps.

Computer Networking - We are continuing the chapter on Ethernet scope and function this week.  We will be using the class Moodle site and the Cisco Networking Academy site along with Packet Tracer to build our own virtual Ethernet networks.  These virtual networks will contain servers, phones, printers and both wireless and wired computers.  You will use your knowledge of the TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and DHCP protocols to complete your simulation lab.  Chapter test on Tuesday of next week.

Modeling and Simulations - You should be working hard to finish up the group simulation that is due this grading period.  Do not forget that you must have the charter, research paper, abstract and poster finished at the same time as your simulation.

Operating Systems - This week should be the week that we finish chapter 5.  Your virtual labs, case studies and testing on chapter 5 should be completed by Thursday.  The class Moodle site contains all the information you need to complete these activities.  As always, when you have questions - ask.

Internet Programming - You should be finished with your Test Making and Taking project by Friday of this week.  We will begin the project of  your choice towards the end of this week.  Check the class Moodle site for project rubric if you want to get started on before we go over the requirements in class.
